The State of Global Air initiative is a collaboration between the Health Effects Institute (HEI) and the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), with expert input from the University of British Columbia. In the form of both an annual State of Global Air Report and an interactive website, the State of Global Air project offers a comprehensive, yet succinct, source of trusted information on the levels of and trends in global air pollution, its sources, and its impact on public health.
It is designed to provide “one-stop shopping” for data on air quality and its potential impact on human health in regions, subregions, and countries around the world. The report and website build on the IHME Global Burden of Disease project, providing the latest annual findings from the GBD program, as well as trends in air quality and health outcomes over time.
The annual State of Global Air Report and website are intended for citizens, journalists, policy makers, and scientists.
